MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
On behalf of the The National Association of Nigerian Nurse Practitioners, USA, Inc. New York Chapter, I welcome you to our website. As a chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Nurse Practitioners USA (NANNPU) and a professional not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization of advanced practice nurses, we are the unified voice of Nigerian nurse practitioners of Nigerian extraction residing in New York State, whose bylaws define our purpose.
The purpose of reaching out is not only to introduce NANNPU-NY to you. It is to give you an update on where we are building the association to being a powerful voice of advocacy for Nigerian advanced practice nurses not only in New York but all of the United States.
The purpose of this association as defined by our bylaws is:
– to promote recognition of the NP’s role by the other professional health care organizations as well as the public,
– to act as a support system for Nigerian NPs in New York, and
– to provide a forum for the exchange of information by members.
With the leadership of the executive and the skilled and careful management by members, NANNPU-NY is growing, thriving, and well-positioned for continued success. Many thanks to the leadership team for their service and dedication in keeping this association running. We hope to continue to work tirelessly to advance our association and provide members with services and opportunities to grow as leaders/professionals and improve the health and wellbeing of New York communities.
We are firm believers in the independent practice of nurse practitioners and look forward to creating an impact on the culture of how we are seen and utilized. We are also passionate about the development and mentorship of new NPs; thus, student NPs are welcome.
Finally, we passionately urge you to join us and add your voice to the growing movement of the Nigerian NPs in New York state.
